Crystal Gayle is an American music singer who was born Brenda Gail Webb on January 9, 1951. She rose to prominence in 1977 with the release of the single “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.” Gayle was given her first name, Brenda Gail Webb, when she was born in Paintsville, Kentucky. Clara Marie “Clary” (née Ramey; 1912–1981) and Melvin Theodore “Ted” Webb had a total of eight children, and she was the eighth and last child (1906 – 1959).
