Does Cary die in You season 3?

You season 3 is now streaming on Netflix and if you’ve made it this far, chances are you likely just finished episode 5 and have some serious questions as to whether one of this season’s newest additions has just met an untimely demise.

We’re, of course, referring to health and fitness guru Cary Conrad who we’re introduced to in the season 3 premiere and quickly becomes one of the characters at the center of this season’s biggest and craziest storyline.

So does Cary die this season or is he among the lucky few to make it out of the season alive? While there are several fakeouts and close calls for Cary, we can confirm he is alive and well by the time the season ends. While it’s possible he could die in a future season, should he return, Cary does not die in You season 3 but he does come close… several times.

Cary’s first brush with death comes in episode 5 when he invites Joe on a guy’s trip and pushes Joe a bit too far during a bonding exercise. During a confrontation, Joe pushes Cary off a ledge sending him tumbling down a hill. It at first seems as though Joe has killed Cary, but Joe makes it to him and saves his life with help from the rest of the guys.

Fast forward to episode 8 and Cary has yet another brush with death when Cary and Sherry discover the truth about Joe and Love while having a steamy night out with the Love-Quinns. Upon learning the truth, Cary and Sherry attempt to fight off the couple and they put up quite a fight.

Unfortunately for them, this is Love and Joe they’re up against and the pair get the upper hand making it look as though Cary and Sherry died at their hands. However, they survived the ordeal only to be locked away into the cage in the basement of Love’s bakery.

From there, things get worse for Cary again when Sherry shoots him in the leg causing us to once again wonder if he’s going to die in the season 3 finale. Luckily, Cary seems to have just as many lives as a cat and pulls through once Sherry finds the hidden key in the cage thus saving the day.

Before the season ends, we find out Cary has made a full recovery and has co-written a book with Sherry called “Caged” about their experience.
