Elisabeth Shue played Ali Mills, a love interest of Daniel and Johnny, in The Karate Kid movies. In Cobra Kai season 3, Shue returned as Ali.
Shue’s return was easily one of the best moments of the entire series so far.
Now, Cobra Kai season 4 is streaming on Netflix, and fans are wondering if Shue and Ali are back for the new season of the Netflix original series.
Unfortunately, Elisabeth Shue does not return as Ali in season 4, which was just released on Netflix on New Year’s Eve 2021.
We didn’t expect Shue to return. She was only featured in two episodes of Cobra Kai season 3, “Feel The Night” and”December 19.” And, her story was pretty much wrapped up in those episodes, although I’m sure the door is always open for her to return if she wanted to.
In season 4, Johnny’s story moved away from Ali, and he starts dating Miguel’s mom, Carmen, played by Vanessa Rubio, who was upped to series regular for season 4.
Over the years, many cast members from The Karate Kid movies have popped in for a few episodes here and there in Cobra Kai. It’s one of the coolest parts of the show, in my opinion. Season 4 is no exception. There are a few cast members who return in the new season, as well.
Most notably, Thomas Ian Griffin, who played Terry Silver in The Karate Kid Part III, is back as Silver in the new season of Cobra Kai as a partner to John Kreese (Martin Cove).
It will be very interesting to see what happens in Cobra Kai season 5 and which characters will be involved in the story. Maybe Elisabeth Shue will return? We’ll see!
Stay tuned for more news about Cobra Kai season 4 and season 5.
