Jacob Elordi fans think he's 'flirting' with Selena Gomez after his SNL sketch

Selena Gomez is in a committed new relationship with music producer Benny Blanco, but it doesn’t stop Jacob Elordi from mentioning her in his SNL sketch, joking he’d featured in one of her music videos.

The Hollywood star, who stars in the highly talked about Saltburn, sparked rumors he had broken up with his girlfriend Olivia Jade Giannulli. However, she was reportedly seen at his SNL afterparty, so their relationship seems to be just as confusing as his sketch. In a relationship or not, it didn’t stop him from mentioning (and maybe flirting) with Selena Gomez.

Although many internet users were calling the heartthrobs’ hosting duties of the hit show ‘underwhelming’ he definitely caught fans’ attention with a mention of the Single Soon star.

In the sketch “Acting Classes” whereby the 26-year-old visits an acting class to give advice, one student asks the movie star how long it took him to get his “first big break.”

“Well, I flew to LA to give the whole Hollywood thing a shot, and as I walked off the plane, Selena Gomez came up to me, said I was gorgeous, and asked me to play her boyfriend in a music video, and then that led to the movies and everything,” he said.

“It was all thanks to Selena Gomez, absolute sweetheart by the way,” the star said in the skit, filled with laughter from the crowd.

Although the sketch was very convincing, it is, unfortunately, all fiction. No Elordi has not starred in one of Selena’s music videos, to save you the frantic searching.

The two have never been spotted together, or seen interacting, but who knows, things may change now. But for this hoping for a romantic connection, it looks like you’re out of luck, as Gomez and Blanco seem happier than ever if their body language is anything to go by.

Fans think Jacob ‘flirted’ with Selena on live TV

Of course, the clip quickly went viral and fans had all sorts of reactions. Some, failed to realize it was fiction, while others called it “so unrealistic.” But there were also some who thought the Kissing Booth star was trying to ‘make his move’.

“Hold up, did Jacob Elordi just flirt with Selena Gomez on national TV? This is either smooth AF or the ultimate friendzone moment. We need answers!” one fan exclaimed on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“He knows who the real queen is,” wrote another.

Another simply told the two: “Now date please.”

We’re sorry to disappoint, but that’s definitely not happening anytime soon…
