New Netflix true crime documentary series Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes is now streaming. The follow-up to Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes is a chilling look into the mind of one of the most horrifying serial killers in America. Gacy killed more than 30 victims between 1972 and 1978.

This three-episode docuseries contains never-before-heard audio and never-before-seen archival footage from the police investigation into his crimes. Below we’ll look into additional details about the serial killer, including who his ex-wives are, his children and more.d

Gacy was approximately 5 feet and 9 inches tall.

John Wayne Gacy died from lethal injection on May 10, 1994 at the age of 52 after he was executed at the Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, Illinois. He was on death row for 14 years after receiving the death penalty during his criminal trial.

Gacy had two children with his first wife, Michael Gacy and Christine Gacy. As far as we know, his children are alive and well. They would be in their 50s now. It’s likely that they have changed their names as Michael and Christine have retained a low profile and not spoken about their father’s crimes publicly. It’s certainly understandable if they did change their names and wanted to sever the connection to their father’s murderous legacy.

According to Newsweek, Gacy married Marlynn Myers in 1964. The pair met at a Nunn-Bus Shoe Company in Springfield, Illinois. They got married after just two months of dating and later had Christine and Michael.

Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes details how their marriage fell apart when Gacy was arrested for sodomy in May 1968. Marlynn petitioned for divorce the same day that he was sentenced to prison.

The docuseries says Gacy never saw or spoke with Marlynn or their children again after that. Today she’s keeping a low profile and staying out of the press. She has probably changed her name.

Gacy married his second wife Carole Hoff in 1972 and they stayed together until 1976. She was a friend of Gacy’s sister, Karen. She was previously divorced. Gacy murdered several victims while they were together and then went on to murder 30 more after they got divorced.

Hoff was more open to speaking about her relationship with Gacy, which you can see in the docuseries shown via archival footage where she claims Gacy was sexually dysfunctional with women. Gacy reportedly told Hoff he was bisexual during their marriage and she thought it was a joke. Later she found porn magazines featuring naked men.

“I was aware of what he was doing. He just felt he was going more for the men and not for the women ’cause he could not function with a woman,” said Hoff.

During Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes, audio is played of Gacy talking about Hoff, saying, “She was accusing me why’d I have young boys working for me and all this. Was I doing something with the boys? I said ‘No.’ I was being accused of it all the time, so I just finally said ‘F*** it, I’m accused of it so goddam much, I might as well go out and do it which I did.”

Today, Hoff is also keeping a low profile and does not appear to be in the public eye.
