Miley Cyrus has opened up in a candid confession about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth. The couple called it quits in 2020, but in a new video, the singer reveals the moment she realized that their marriage was finally over.

Liam and Miley’s relationship has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. The celebrity pair got married in 2018 after ten years of on-and-off romance, but, sadly, the marital bliss sadly did not last long. Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce in August the following year from the music performer, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Miley Cyrus knew at an exact moment that her marriage with Liam won’t work out

Miley Cyrus is not shying away from talking about her vulnerable moments with fans. The latest episode of her TikTok series, Used To Be Young, reveals how Miley realized that her marriage with Liam Hemsworth had run its due course.

Talking about the serious moment in her life, she revealed: “I have to slow down because this is actually serious.

“So Glastonbury was in June, which was when the decision had been made that me and Liam’s commitment to be married just really came from—a place of love first, because we’ve been together for 10 years—but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could.”

“Human comes first”

Tackling glam and fame along with a high-profile marriage is not easy. Miley talked about how she decided to prioritize her life at the crucial point when she realized that the relationship had come to an end.

The Party In The USA singer recalled the day of June 19, 2019, aka the day of the concert. This was when she decided “that it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship. So that was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first.

“I guess that’s why it’s now so important to me for that not to be the case.

“The human comes first.”

“I can’t accept the villainizing and just all those stories”

From finding fame as a teen star with Hannah Montana to learning where to draw the boundaries while speaking for herself, Miley Cyrus has proven why she is one of the biggest icon of today’s generation.

While Miley has never badmouthed her ex, Liam, she also took a stand for herself, telling what went down when her former husband filed for the divorce.

She admitted: “What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don’t love each other the way that we used to anymore. That’s okay. I can accept that.

“I can’t accept the villainizing and just all those stories.”
